	Mechanical and climatic stresses are not the only stresses suffered by cargoes during transport, handling and storage that should not be underrated - biotic changes are also important.   Most foodstuffs, semiluxury items and animal feedstuffs are of natural, i.e. organic, origin, being products originating from vegetable or animal organisms. These goods interact physiologically and biochemically with their environment.
